Korea’s Jeju volcanic island was added as natural sites to the prestigious World Heritage List today with Madagascan rainforests and South China’s karst landscapes.
The island of Jeju has long been a haven for newlyweds and vacationers of South Korea. It is famous for its beautiful scenery and an exotic subtropical climate. Located 130 kilometers off the Korean Peninsula, there are about 360 volcanoes on the island, with the Mount Halla at 1,950 meters above sea level.
